A*STAR Social Robotics Laboratory (ASORO) houses a dedicated group of researchers, engineers and designers from multi-disciplinary backgrounds with a focus on three scientific areas: Robotic Senses, Cognitive Intelligence and Robotics Engineering. ASORO laboratory was launched in 2008 as part of a multi-year inter-institute program to spearhead the development of A*STAR's Science and Engineering Research Council (SERC) capabilities and expertise in robotic intelligence. The program has ever since developed essential technologies and provided a platform for technology showcasing and prototyping.
ASORO laboratory is dedicated to build the foundation and to pave the way for the advancement of robotic intelligence and engineering technology. The research projects in ASORO laboratory include speech processing, vision understanding, mechatronics, human-robot interaction, and cognitive processing.
ASORO laboratory welcomes internships, collaboration and partnership with research labs/organizations. ASORO is committed to providing development platforms to accelerate user adoption in partnership with the industry. ASORO also work along with stakeholders to facilitate technology transfer of its research to real world applications.
